From The Office:
Early sign-out or appointment - Please send an email or note to the school letting us know the date, time, name, and relationship of the person who is signing your child out. They must be listed under your child as a contact. If you need to add a contact please do so in writing. Please be sure to bring your ID when signing out your student NEW FOR THIS YEAR: When you arrive please ring the bell, identify yourself, and the student/students you are picking up, once you enter the vestibule you will need to sign into the IPAD (as a visitor) (ID is required with first time sign in) located in the vestibule and then sign your student out on the clipboard. Vacation/Emergency Permit:
If your child will be absent for an extended amount of time, an Emergency/Vacation Permit form must be filled out and returned to the office prior to the absence. Please note if your child will be absent for 10 school days or more they will be withdrawn for this period and will need to be re-enrolled with an updated monthly utility bill upon your return.
If you have any end-of-the-day changes to transportation please email or send a note to your child's teacher and the office staff before 3pm day of.
Volunteer Reminders: ALL volunteers MUST have completed and approved clearances.
**Volunteer Clearances:** New for this year, all volunteer clearances must be dropped off in person at the administration office - 1210 Springhouse Road. Please reference the website for full requirements and procedures. Thank you for your cooperation!

Download the New Parkland App by Apptegy Thrillshare - NEW FOR 2026 - the Parkland app is where all communication between students and teacher and parents and teachers will occur. Access the Parkland app on your computer here or download the app on your phone with this link for Apple or this link for Android phones. In either instance, log in with your parent email or phone number that we have on file. Please share with your students that we are rolling out this new communication system, which will be available on their Chromebooks as a tab called “Thrillshare” when they restart their devices. Students will learn more when they arrive at school.
Food Service Accounts: Advance payments for cafeteria purchases can be made at www.schoolcafe.com/ParklandSD or by sending cash/check (payable to PSD Cafeteria) to the Food Services Office at 2619 Stadium Drive, Orefield, PA 18069. Chromebook Device Protection Plan (DPP): All Parkland students are assigned a Chromebook. Optional insurance coverage for device damages is available for $20 (Grades 4-12) or $10 (Grades KG-3) for the year. Open enrollment ends September 30th. For details, visit our DPP webpage. Online payments are accepted through My School Bucks. Chromebooks for Grades KG-3 will remain in the classroom at all times, except for Grade 3 when students may potentially take devices home on remote learning/inclement weather days
CAC Update: October and November
The Parkland Community Advisory Council will hold its October meeting on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Administration Building, located at 1210 Springhouse Rd, Allentown, PA 18104. These monthly meetings are open to the public. The topic of this meeting is Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS): A Framework for School Culture and Climate led by Dr. Jamie Giaquinto, Dr. Jude Sandt, Dr. Monica Ouly-Uhl and Mr. Nate Davidson. - Veterans Memorial annual Unity Day Walk-a-thon is on Wednesday 10/21. Students will walk during the encore time. Wear orange on 10/21 for Unity Day to show a united stand against bullying and to promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion for everyone in our community. Flyers will be coming home with students this week or view the flyer online now. Donations can be made now until 10/23 through 99Pledges. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and directly helps fund field trips and more for our Eagles.
- Are you the parent or guardian of a 5th grader this year? Consider joining the Class of 2027 5th Grade Committee to stay in the know for PTO sponsored 5th grade activities. Fill out this google form to participate.
- Our next PTO meeting is Wednesday, October 14th. Join us from 7:00 - 8:00 PM via Google Meet.
