 January 24th is an early dismissal day for Elementary students.   Parents may order a bagged lunch that day.  Link for Bagged Lunch:https://forms.gle/RuRn5NXBQTBkWHjm9

**Bagged lunches will consist of turkey and cheese sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, and beverages and will be charged at their normal rate to students' cafeteria accounts.    On the early dismissal day, your child's bagged lunch will be delivered to the child's classroom before dismissal time.

Order forms are due by noon on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.   You only need to complete a form if you are requesting a lunch.If you have questions concerning the bagged lunches, please contact the food services office at 610-351-5670.

  1. We are collecting gift cards for our upcoming  March Calendar Raffle. (all cards accepted!) 
  2. Each gift card is assigned a day in March and a winner is contacted by Mrs. Hertz. 
  3. Please send in cards to the PTO mailbox before January 24. 
  4. This is a big fundraiser for 5th-grade end-of-year activities.
  5. Any unwanted cards that you receive as a holiday gift are a great way to upcycle and donate to this important fundraiser!

  3. There are a lot of different ways to be involved (not during school hours). If you have a 5th grader (or 4th grader), please consider donating some of your time to send off our Eagles that are flying the nest this year!

  1. Please head to Outback on Krocks Road on January 25 from 11 am-9 pm to help earn 10% IN ALL SALES!
  2. This fundraiser helps pay for YOUR STUDENT'S field trip!!

Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled to take place on November 25th and 26th. Please visit the Sign Up link above then choose the Sign Up for your child’s teacher. Please keep in mind that all students will be dismissed at 11:45 AM on all of the conference days. As well as Wednesday, November 27th.

  1. All Farm Bakery orders will be ready for pick up on Wednesday, Nov 10, from 4-6pm in the cafeteria. 
  2. Our Skating party is Thursday, Nov 21 from 6-8p (see attached flyer)
    1. Cash only accepted at the door.
    2. $8 for entry and skate rentals are $3.
  3. Our annual Holiday Shop will be held Dec 10-13 during art class.

Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled to take place on November 25th and 26th. Please visit the Sign Up link above then choose the Sign Up for your child’s teacher. If you have more than one student please visit each child's teacher. If you need assistance with signing up please contact the school office (610) 351-5910.

Please keep in mind that all students will be dismissed at 11:45 AM on all of the conference days. As well as Wednesday, November 27th.

We ask that everyone has signed up by Wednesday, November 14th.


School Snack Message: Please no candy or extra sugary snacks.  Snacks should be a healthier snack choice, along with water.

Early Dismissal Bagged Lunches Available: Order HERE

November 25, 26, and 27, 2024 are early dismissal days for Elementary students. Parents may order a bagged lunch for 1, 2, or all 3 days. Bagged lunches will consist of turkey and cheese sandwiches, fruit, vegetable, and beverage and will be charged at their normal rate to students' cafeteria accounts. On the early dismissal day, your child's bagged lunch will be delivered to the child's classroom prior to dismissal time.

Order forms are due by noon on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.   You only need to complete a form if you are requesting a lunch.

If you have questions concerning the bagged lunches, please reach out to the food services office at 610-351-5670.

PTO News:

  1. Join us Wednesday, Nov 13 at 6:30p to meet Dr. Madsen and hear about district updates. 
    1. Immediately following, the VMES PTO will hold their monthly meeting at 7pm. 
  2. Our Skating party is Thursday, Nov 21 from 6-8p (see attached flyer)
    1. Cash only accepted at the door or pay ahead using the flyer
    2. $8 for entry and skate rentals are $3.
  3. Please donate to World Kindness Day to our Parkland Cares Pantry by sending the following in to school no later than November 13:
    1. Mac N Cheese
    2. Chef Boyardee
    3. Chicken noodle soup
    4. cans of tuna
  4. Fifth Grader Parents--We're looking for volunteers to help us plan the end of year activities (picnic, trip to Philadelphia, Iron Pigs Game)
    1. This is a great way to get involved and it's not a big commitment!
    2. Any fifth grader parents/guardians willing to help, please contact Karla 
  5. Box Tops---it's so easy! See the flyer for steps for one-time setup!
    1. If you connect your Walmart account to Box Tops, it will automatically scan your Box Tops! 
    2. It's so easy to earn money with the shopping that you already do! Box Tops flyer here
  6. Panera November Dine & Donate--Head to Panera NOV 23 from 4-8p and 25% of the proceeds will be donated to VMES-see the flyer

We have created a district-wide campaign to collect change for students in Asheville, NC, who are just getting back to school this week after about a month of not being able to attend school!


Girls Basketball Clinic at PHS for girls in grades 2-5 will be held on Sunday, November 3rd, from 1 to 3 PM in the PHS Gym. No pre-registration is required

    1. Please send in your order form and payment (cash or check). 
    2. Mark your calendar for pick up on 11.20
    3. Keep in mind, these freeze great! 
  2. The poinsettia orders are due on 11.8.
    1. You will receive a voucher for your flowers the week of 11.18. 
    2. The vouchers can be redeemed at Lehigh Valley Home & Garden Center. 
    3. This fundraiser is to help fund the 5th grade field trip to Historic Philadelphia and the end of year picnic. 
  3. Box tops is so easy now! 
    1. Download the app and scan! 
  4. Mark your calendar for 11.13 for our next PTO meeting. 
    1. You can join at 7pm in the Creative Commons at school or on zoom! 
  5. Nov 21 from 6-8 is our Skateaway party!
